How it works

How financing works with Helping Hands Roofing

  1. Answer three questions.

What monthly budget feels comfortable, whether you might pay it off early, and how you'd describe your credit. It takes about a minute and does not touch your credit.

  2. We narrow down the options.

We use your answers and your project to pick the options that make sense, so you aren't sorting through a long list of plans.

  3. Apply on the lender's secure site.

We send you a link and you apply directly with the lender. Applying includes a credit check.

  4. Get a decision, often within minutes.

Approvals are good for six months, so you can apply before your project is on the calendar.

  5. Schedule your project.

Once you're approved and you've picked your option, we get your work scheduled.

What you can finance

What you can finance

Financing is available on projects from $500 to $50,000 on the home you live in, including:

A new asphalt shingle roof in the Dayton area typically runs $8,500 to $18,000. See what goes into the price on our roof replacement page, or try our Instant Roof Estimate.

Insurance and financing

Insurance and financing together

If a storm damaged your roof, your homeowners insurance may cover much of the replacement. You still owe your deductible, and some homeowners want upgrades the claim doesn't pay for. Financing can cover both.

We help you through the roof insurance claim from the first inspection to the adjuster's visit. Coverage is always your insurance company's decision, and we never promise what a claim will pay. What we can do is make sure the part you owe doesn't hold up a roof that needs replacing.

Before you decide

Is financing a roof a good idea?

It can be. A roof that is leaking or failing usually can't wait while savings catch up, and every month of water getting in can mean more damage underneath. Financing lets you fix it now, keep your savings for emergencies, and choose the right roof instead of the cheapest one.

Financing also has a cost. If you can pay cash without strain, that is usually the least expensive way, and we'll tell you so. If you might pay the balance off early, say from a tax refund or an insurance check, tell us on the form. It changes which option we'd recommend.

Before you decide

How to pay for a roof when money is tight

Start with what the roof actually needs. If a storm caused the damage, your homeowners insurance may pay for most of it, and we'll help you through the claim. If only one part of the roof is leaking, a repair that rebuilds that whole elevation may be all you need for now, for much less than a new roof. If the roof does need replacing, financing lets you spread out the cost instead of waiting while the damage grows. We'll tell you which one fits your roof at your free inspection.

Before you decide

Questions to ask before you finance any roof

Whoever you hire, a few questions protect you:

  • What will I pay in total, not just per month? A lower monthly payment over a longer time can cost more overall. Ask to see both.
  • Can I pay it off early, and does that save me anything? Some plans save you money when you pay early and some don't. If early payoff is likely, say so up front.
  • Who is the lender, and where do I apply? You should apply on the lender's own site, not hand your Social Security number to a salesperson.
  • Do I have to pay anything before the work starts? Be careful with any contractor who wants the full price up front.

We're glad to answer every one of these for your project before you decide.

Your privacy

Your private information stays with the lender

We never ask for your Social Security number, income, bank details or ID. Our form asks only for your name, phone, email, ZIP and three general questions. When you apply, you do it on the lender's own secure site, and your application goes straight to them.

What you'll need to apply

When you apply on the lender's site, have these ready:

  • An email address
  • A valid driver's license or state ID (not a temporary card)
  • Two recent pay stubs, if the lender asks for proof of income (self-employed applicants may be asked for two years of tax returns)

You must be 18 or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Financing is for the home you live in, including a second home you live in part of the year; for a second home, the lender may ask for a recent utility bill in your name. Rental properties don't qualify.

Questions

Roof financing questions we hear in Dayton

Is it hard to get approved for roof financing?

It depends mostly on your credit and your income, and the lender makes the decision. Answering our three questions doesn't touch your credit, and we'll tell you honestly where you're likely to stand before you apply. When you do apply, most people get a decision within minutes.

Do you offer financing for a new roof?

Yes. Financing is available on roof replacements, roof repairs, gutters, gutter guards and more, on projects from $500 to $50,000.

Will checking my options hurt my credit?

No. Answering our three questions does not involve a credit check. A credit check happens only if you choose to apply with the lender.

Can I get financing with less-than-perfect credit?

There are options for a range of credit situations. The lender makes the final decision, and we'll help you understand where you stand before you apply.

How fast will I know if I'm approved?

Often within minutes of applying.

How long is an approval good for?

Six months. You can apply early and schedule your project when it suits you.

Is there a minimum project size?

Financing is available on projects from $500 to $50,000 on the home you live in.

Can I finance my insurance deductible?

Yes. Many homeowners with a storm damage claim use financing to cover the deductible and any upgrades the claim doesn't include.

Can I pay it off early?

Yes. Tell us on the form if you might, because it affects which option we'd recommend.

Do I have to finance the whole project?

No. You can pay part of the cost yourself and finance the rest.

Do you finance gutters and gutter guards too?

Yes. Financing isn't just for roofs. Gutters, gutter guards, repairs and other work on your home from $500 to $50,000 qualify to apply.
