Fascia, soffit, and the trim that finishes them off aren't three unrelated services. They're one system along the edge of the roof, and a problem in one usually explains a problem in another. The gutters hang on the fascia, the soffit tucks in underneath, and the trim ties the whole edge together. Looking at them together is what actually solves the underlying issue instead of restarting the same clock on a board that rots again.
How we do the work
We do not patch a few feet of soffit or swap a single fascia board. We replace the soffit and fascia on one whole elevation, meaning one full side of the house, at a time. It is the same rule we follow for roofing and siding. Taking the whole side down lets us see the wood behind it, fix what is soft, and leave an edge that matches from corner to corner.
Most soffit and fascia board replacement jobs take two days. Some are done in one. The work is covered by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
What each part does
Fascia is the board that runs along the edge of the roof, right behind the gutter. Because the gutter hangs on it, fascia is usually the first place damage shows up when a gutter overflows, leaks at a seam, or holds standing water against the wood. Replacing rotted fascia without fixing whatever soaked it just means the new fascia fails on the same timeline the old one did, so we look at the cause, not only the wood.
Soffit is the panel that closes in the underside of the eave, and on most homes it's the intake side of attic ventilation. Roof vents up top can only pull as much air as the soffit is actually letting in, so old, painted-over, or blocked soffit can bottleneck the whole system even when the vents above look fine. Replacing soffit is a chance to keep that airflow working, not just to match the panel that was there.
Once the fascia and soffit underneath are sound, we can wrap the fascia and related edges in custom aluminum trim, bent on-site to fit the home. It gives the roofline a clean, low-maintenance, factory-style finish that doesn't need repainting the way bare wood does. It finishes the edge; it isn't a substitute for fixing the wood behind it.

When to have it looked at
Any one of these is worth a look. None of them means the whole roofline has to come off. We replace the soffit and fascia on the affected side of the house, and caught early that is a smaller job than the water damage it leads to if it is left alone.

Treating them as a system, not two separate cosmetic fixes, is what actually solves the underlying problem instead of restarting the same clock.
When we open up a fascia or soffit, we deal with what's actually behind it. If the wood is soft or the substrate has failed, that gets corrected before new material goes on, because wrapping trim over rot only hides it. It's the same way we'd want it done on our own family's home, which is the whole idea behind Families Helping Families.
A common question
Fascia, soffit, and trim replacement can be completed as a standalone project without replacing the roof. It does pair naturally with other edge-of-roof work, so if you're already replacing seamless gutters or adding gutter guards, it can make sense to correct the fascia and soffit behind them at the same time. And when fascia damage turns out to be a symptom of a failing roof, we'll tell you honestly and walk through roof replacement with you. But needing fascia or soffit work does not, by itself, mean you need a new roof.
Qualifying fascia and soffit replacement is covered under the Helping Hands Roofing Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If a covered problem results from our installation workmanship, we come back and correct it under the warranty terms, with the material and labor for that covered failure at no expense to the homeowner. The warranty covers our workmanship. It isn't a warranty against weather, pre-existing structural conditions, a manufacturer's own material defect, or a lack of maintenance.
We do not patch soffit or fascia. We replace it in full, one whole elevation at a time, the same way we handle roofing and siding.
