The honest version
What gutter guards actually do
A good gutter guard keeps most leaves and debris out of the gutter, so water keeps flowing and you're not up on a ladder cleaning them out several times a year. That's the real benefit: less maintenance, and gutters that keep doing their job through a wet Ohio fall.

The guard itself, up close
The Helping Hands Roofing Standard in practice
What they don't do
A gutter guard is only worth installing if it actually reduces the maintenance burden long-term. The wrong style on the wrong roof can trade one problem (leaf buildup) for another (debris packing under the guard, out of sight).
No guard makes a gutter truly maintenance-free. Fine debris like shingle grit, seeds, and pine needles can still collect on top, and the wrong style on the wrong roof can move a problem instead of solving it. We'll tell you honestly whether guards make sense for your roof and tree cover, or whether they would just hide the problem where you can't see it.
Guards and the system under them
The gutter underneath still matters
A guard is only as good as the gutter it sits on. Undersized, poorly sloped, or failing gutters won't drain correctly no matter what's on top of them. We install guards on both 5-inch and 6-inch systems, and if the gutters underneath need correcting or replacing first, we'll say so instead of capping a bad system with a guard.
Often the cleanest result is new seamless gutters and guards installed together. And because gutters and guards hang on the fascia, we check the fascia and soffit behind them as part of the job.
Covered by the Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
Gutter guard installation is a qualifying installation under the Helping Hands Roofing Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If a covered problem results from an installation error on our part, we come back and correct the workmanship failure, material and labor at no expense to the homeowner, under the warranty terms. The warranty covers our workmanship, not debris, weather, or lack of maintenance. It's the same standard we'd want on our own family's home, which is the whole idea behind Families Helping Families.

What Gutters Cost in Greater Dayton
Most gutter companies won't give you a number until someone is standing in your driveway. We will, and you can work it out yourself before you ever call.
Grab a tape measure. Add up the gutter runs you want guarded and put the total in below.
It is an estimate, not a quote. We can't see your house from here. But it is the same arithmetic we'd do standing in front of it, and for most homes it lands close.

The full system, hung and finished: seamless gutter formed on site, hangers, downspouts, and stainless steel mesh guard where you want it. It includes the Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
What can move it
Rotted fascia. Gutters hang on the wood behind them. If that wood is gone, it has to be replaced before anything goes up. You'll see it during the inspection and we'll price it before any work starts. No surprises after the fact.
If it fails, we fix it.
Your gutters and gutter guards carry our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If something we installed fails, you call us and we come out and correct it: material and labor, no charge to you.
If a tree limb comes down on it, or someone backs into it, that isn't a workmanship failure and the warranty doesn't cover it. We'll tell you that honestly and quote the repair. See the full warranty terms →
The system we install
High-grade industrial stainless steel mesh, installed under the shingles at the roof edge, three screws per four-foot section, set on a natural incline so debris sheds instead of sitting. Eight years installing this system and not one callback about a clogged gutter. If a customer ever does have an issue, we come out at no charge.
Real completed work
Gutter guards on a real Greater Dayton project
Gutter guards can be installed on their own as a standalone improvement, or as part of a larger gutter or roofing project. The Beavercreek project shown here happened to be a larger roof and gutter job, so the photograph shows the completed roof and gutter system where we installed the guards.
