About this project

A storm brought a large tree down onto this house. It broke through the roof and let water inside.

What we found

The tree had punched through the roof deck, crushed the gutters and damaged the roof edge, and water had stained the ceilings inside.

What we did

Once the tree was off the house, we tarped the opening to get the roof watertight.

We documented the damage inside and out and met the adjuster. The insurance company approved the claim for the roof, gutters, gutter guards and the interior.

We tore the roof off, replaced the broken decking, and cleaned the deck before anything new went down.

The new roof has ice and water shield at the eaves, synthetic underlayment, Owens Corning Duration shingles and new chimney flashing. We also installed new soffit, new seamless gutters and gutter guards.

Inside, we oversaw the drywall repair and paint, so the room was finished, not just the roof.
