Wind damage to the siding uncovered rotted builder board. We replaced it with new OSB sheathing, house wrap and white board-and-batten siding. Every photograph below is our own.

About this project

The homeowner called us about wind damage to the siding.

What we found

When we took the old siding off, the walls underneath were covered in builder board, a low-grade fiberboard. It was coming off in chunks, had rotted in places, and wouldn't hold a siding nail.

What we did

The homeowner's insurance company approved the full job, including the new sheathing.

We took the builder board off every wall and put up new OSB sheathing, wrapped the house in house wrap, installed the corners and trim, and finished it in white vinyl board-and-batten siding with new trim around the windows. The work is covered by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
