About this project
This homeowner on Kevin Dr watched our crew put a roof on the house next door, liked what she saw, and asked us to look at hers. We gave her an estimate, and her new roof went on less than two weeks after her first call. She paid for the new roof herself; this was not an insurance claim.
Roof-deck condition
Under the old roof was a 1x board deck. We replaced about ten bad boards; the rest still had their structural integrity.
What we did
We protected the yard and house before tear-off, and the Owens Corning Duration shingles were delivered to the site.
The roof was built to the Helping Hands Roofing Standard: two rows of ice and water shield at the eaves, ice and water shield around every protrusion, around the chimney and across the whole bay window roof where it meets the house, and two layers of synthetic underlayment overlapped 24 inches.
The chimney has new flashing, and the roof is finished front and back, including over the bay window.
Materials and system used: new 1x boards where the deck was bad, two rows of ice and water shield at the eaves, ice and water shield around every protrusion, the chimney and the bay window roof, two layers of synthetic underlayment, Owens Corning Duration shingles, new chimney flashing
